Dhongde Presents at International Conference on Research in Income and Wealth

Posted May 18, 2017

Shatakshee Dhongde, assistant professor in the School of Economics, participated in a special conference co-organized by the Bank of Korea and the International Association to Research in Income and Wealth (IARIW).

Dhongde presented a paper, Multidimensional Measures of Well-Being with Dimensional Hierarchy. The paper introduced an axiomatic framework to measure multidimensional well-being and deprivation using binary data. The framework replaced the typical two-tier partition prevalent in the current literature with a more flexible hierarchical structure.

The IARIW is a biennial conference that brings together researchers from around the world to discuss topics such as national accounts, income, and wealth distribution. The 2017 conference was held on April 24 - 29 in Seoul, Korea.
