Hassan Named President of Interdisciplinary Nineteenth-Century Studies Scholars

The Interdisciplinary Nineteenth-Century Studies (INCS), an international group of scholars, has named Narin Hassan, associate professor in the School of Literature, Media, and Communication, as their president, effective Jan. 1, 2022.

Hassan will serve as president of INCS for the next two years. She previously held the role of vice president from 2018-2021 and organized the annual INCS conference hosted by Georgia Tech in 2015, which attracted 320 participants from across North America and eight other countries.

Hassan also co-edited a special issue of Nineteenth-Century Contexts, a journal supported by the INCS, published in October 2021 and co-authored the issue’s introduction.
