Posted May 1, 2017

The School of Modern Languages recently awarded study abroad scholarships to 24 Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) students through the Project Global Officer (Project GO) initiative. Project GO is a Department of Defense initiative aimed at improving the language skills, regional expertise, and intercultural communication skills of future military officers.

Scholarships were awarded following an extremely competitive national application process, and the recipients will receive full scholarships to participate in the School’s Language for Business and Technology (LBAT) summer study abroad programs to study Chinese, Korean, and Russian. This year’s group of scholarship recipients is comprised of Air Force, Army, and Navy/Marine ROTC students from 19 different institutions, which includes six students from Georgia Tech.
