Overview
Before joining Georgia Tech, Corinne Matthews completed her Ph.D. in English at the University of Florida. She also holds an M.A. in English from Kansas State University and an M.S.E.E. in Electrical Engineering from Southern Methodist University. Her research focuses on the intersections of consent, agency, sexuality, and genre in children's and young adult literature, and she is at work on her first monograph, The Fantasy of Consent: Sex, Sexual Assault, and Rape Culture in Contemporary Young Adult Fantasy. Her work can be found in journals like Journal of the History of Childhood and Youth, The Lion and the Unicorn, and the South Central Review. She also co-hosts the pop culture podcast, Sex. Love. Literature., which examines representations in media of sex, love, and desire for a public audience.
