Interests

Teaching Interests:
I teach at the intersection of international affairs and technology, with a focus on how digital and emerging infrastructures shape power, risk, and governance. My courses blend security studies, computational methods, and political economy with policy analysis, covering topics such as internet and cloud infrastructure (chips, cables, platforms), cybersecurity and statecraft, AI governance and regulation, and the geopolitics of emerging technologies including quantum.
Research Interests:
My research examines how emerging technologies reshape international security and global governance issues, with a particular focus on the politics of digital infrastructure and strategic competition over critical systems. A central thread is the geopolitics and governance of quantum technologies, especially the quantum internet, where privacy-enhancing technical capabilities (for example, advanced cryptographic and quantum communication protocols) pose novel cybersecurity questions. Grounded in a computer science background, I use technical substrates as inputs into theorizing power, dependency, and risk in complex infrastructures. Methodologically, I combine computational social science and mixed methods, including publication and patent analysis, network analysis, and qualitative policy analysis of technology strategies. I also work on cybersecurity and infrastructure security, especially large-scale telecoms networks.
Research Fields:
  • Globalization: Political Economy and Governance
  • International Security Policy
