Lionel Gall

Lionel Gall, Senior Lecturer of French at Georgia Tech, received a Ph.D. in American Literatures in 2003 and an interdisciplinary pre-doctoral degree on classical and modern European literatures and arts in 1998, from Université Lyon III, Lyon, France. He also holds a French-German Degree in European Business Management (Reims Business School, Reims, France – Reutlingen, University of Applied Sciences Reutlingen, Germany) from the European Partnership for Business Schools London-Madrid-Reims-Reutlingen (E.P.B.S.). He has been serving as the Language Lower Division Coordinator for the French unit since 2005. In addition to serving in various School Committees (Introductory Language Program Council, Strategic Communication, and Review for Promotion and Tenure), he leads the LBAT (Language for Business and Technology) Paris study abroad and immersion summer program. Throughout his years at Tech, he has received numerous teaching awards for excellent teaching. In 2015, he was deeply honored to receive the Teacher of Year Award (non-tenure category) awarded by Ivan Allen College and by its Student Advisory Board. He is a four-time recipient of the Class of 1940 Course Survey Teaching Effectiveness Award (2018, 2016,2014,2013) and a three-time recipient of Class of 1934 Course Survey Teaching Effectiveness Award (2020, 2019, 2011) offered by Georgia Tech’s CETL to those who have consistently scored between 4.8 and 5.0 on the CIOS survey regarding effective teaching.
