Overview
Tia Williams has joined the School of Modern Languages as Program and Operations Manager. She has more than 17 years of experience working in the University System of Georgia (13 years at Georgia State University and 4 years at Georgia Tech). She possesses a strong background in academic program coordination, administrative leadership, and student systems management. Her expertise includes supervising teams, ensuring operational efficiency, and utilizing her skills in student information systems for accurate record-keeping, and facilitating academic evaluations.
In her previous role as Academic Program Coordinator I at Georgia Tech's School of Materials Science and Engineering, Tia was responsible for planning, organizing, and coordinating projects and operations within the academic department. Before that, she served as a scheduler for the College of Arts and Sciences at Georgia State University, collaborating with course scheduling and curriculum management teams to coordinate schedules for multiple academic departments. Tia also worked for eight years as the academic coordinator for the Department of Psychology and the Department of Geosciences at Georgia State University, handling various responsibilities such as student support, advising, clerical support, event planning, and budget maintenance.
Tia holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from Georgia State University and a Master of Business Administration from Clayton State University. In her free time, she enjoys reading, traveling, listening to music, and spending time with her family.
