Overview

Krystian Kevin Ramlogan is a scholar and award-winning filmmaker specializing in Caribbean cinema, narrative structures, and performance studies. His research explores frameworks of resistance and emancipation in cinematic narratives, with particular attention to comparative analysis and the amplification of marginalized voices in global cinema. His work bridges critical theory and creative practice, examining how cinematic form articulates experiences of identity, displacement, and cultural memory across the Caribbean and its diaspora.

Ramlogan's films have screened at international festivals, and he brings this creative practice into dialogue with his scholarly and pedagogical work. As a curriculum designer, he has developed film and media programs at multiple institutions, including the Caribbean's first BFA in digital media at the University of Trinidad and Tobago. His teaching integrates rigorous critical analysis with innovative methodologies, fostering inclusive approaches to storytelling and media literacy.
