The Georgia Institute of Technology’s School of Public Policy moved up another four spots in the latest U.S. News & World Report rankings of the nation’s best graduate programs, with three specializations appearing in the top 20.

The School’s graduate program ranked an overall No. 39 in the 2020 list, which was released March 12, 2019. That is up from 43rd in its 2019 list and No. 45 in the 2016 rankings.

The School’s energy and environmental policy analysis specialization — which recently launched Georgia’s only graduate program fully dedicated to sustainability — now ranks in a tie for 11th place, up from its 12th place debut in the previous rankings. The public policy analysis and policy evaluation concentration retained its No. 20 ranking, and the magazine ranked the School’s information and communications technology policy program as No. 3 in the nation.

“The School of Public Policy continues to climb in these rankings for a reason. We provide rigorous, innovative programs and outstanding opportunities across the range of public policy disciplines, preparing our students for a lifetime of success,” said Kaye Husbands Fealing, chair of the School of Public Policy. “I am pleased the outstanding faculty and programs of the School of Public Policy continue to be recognized as among the nation’s best.”

Through its baccalaureate and graduate programs, the Georgia Tech School of Public Policy seeks to define the discourse around global public policy through rigorous scholarship and research examining the global impact of science, technology, and innovation on our society.

The School is a unit of Georgia Tech’s Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts, which is internationally recognized as an innovator bridging the traditional separation between the technological disciplines and the social sciences and liberal arts.
