Finalists Chosen in Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts Dean Search

(Jan. 27 Search Update: Finalist Carolyn Thomas, professor of American studies and vice provost and dean of Undergraduate Education at the University of California, Davis, has chosen to withdraw from consideration. The search will proceed with the other three candidates, as planned.)

Finalists have been chosen in the Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts dean search. As part of the final selection process, each candidate will visit campus and present an open seminar addressing their broad vision for the humanities and social sciences at Georgia Tech. The hour-long seminars are open to all students, faculty, and staff, who can attend in person, watch real-time via livestream, or watch a post-event video of each candidate’s presentation.                        

The finalists are included below in order of their campus seminar presentations:

  • Cameron Thies, professor of political science and director of the School of Politics and Global Studies at Arizona State University, will present an open seminar on Monday, Jan. 27, at 12:15 p.m. in the Clough Undergraduate Learning Commons, Room 152.
  • Kaye Husbands Fealing, professor of public policy and chair of the School of Public Policy at the Georgia Institute of Technology, will present an open seminar on Monday, Feb. 3, at 12:15 p.m. in the Clough Undergraduate Learning Commons, Room 152.
  • Kate Drowne, professor of English and interim vice provost and dean of the College of Arts, Sciences, and Business at the Missouri University of Science and Technology, will present an open seminar on Monday, Feb. 10, at 12:15 p.m. in the Clough Undergraduate Learning Commons, Room 152.
