Patricia Graffunder (MS-GMC student) Wins 1st Place in the Climate Action Photography & Art Contest
Posted October 9, 2020
Please join us in congratulating Patricia Graffunder (MS-GMC) for winning 1st place in the Climate Action Photography & Art Contest organized by the Atlanta Global Studies Center (AGSC) in partnership with the German Consulate General in Atlanta and the Georgia Department of Education as part of the second-annual Global Climate Action Symposium, Oct 6-8 .
Students (K-18) were asked to present their perspectives and concerns on the climate crisis in photography or other art forms with an accompanying caption that explained their process. The number and quality of submissions in every grade level excelled expectations. There were over forty submissions in the college (freshman-postgraduate) level alone.
Renowned German photographer and climate justice advocate Barbara Dombrowski selected 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners for the Global Climate Action Art & Photography Contest alongside a committee review and selection team of Georgia Tech Faculty, Georgia Department of Education members, and Atlanta Global Studies Center staff.
