  • Borenstein Presents at Technology Association of Georgia Panel on Artificial Intelligence Cognitive Interaction

    Jason Borenstein, associate director of the Center for Ethics and Technology, was a panelist for a Technology Association of Georgia (TAG) November 1 event “Chatbots and Assistants: Cognitive Interactions to Support the Future.” The session explored topics ranging from Artificial Intelligence (AI) potential in shopping and personal assistants to managing the complexities of a smart city. Borenstein share perspectives on ethics. The session took place at the Metro Atlanta Chamber.

    Congratulations to Bruce McEver on the release of his new book Like Lesser Gods. An Exclusive Evening with Bruce McEver was held on Friday, October 27, 2017, at the National Arts Club in New York City.

    McEver is founder and chairman of Berkshire Capital and a member on the Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts Advisory Board at Georgia Institute of Technology. He endows the McEver Chair in Poetry, the McEver Professor of Engineering and the Liberal Arts, and the Leadership and Multifaith Program.

    Morgan and Tom Foley Scholar Award 2017

    Two students in the Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts at Georgia Institute of Technology received the 2017 Foley Scholar award at this year’s GVU student awards competition.

    Tom Jenkins, a doctoral student in the Graduate Program in Digital Media in the School of Literature, Media, and Communication (LMC) and Morgan Orangi, a master’s student in the program's Human-Computer Interaction track, were recipients. Both are advised by Carl DiSalvo, LMC associate professor.
