Overview

Dr. Evgeny Tikhonravov is a Lecturer at the Sam Nunn School of International Affairs at the Georgia Institute of Technology, where he teaches courses on international law, human rights, political sociology, and post-Soviet studies. Prior to arriving in the United States on a Fulbright grant in 2022, he served as an Associate Professor at the School of Law, Siberian Federal University, in Krasnoyarsk, Russia.

During his time in Russia, Dr. Tikhonravov received grants from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and the Erasmus+ program, which allowed him to conduct research at the University of Münster, the University of Freiburg, and the University of Jena. Dr. Tikhonravov is a native Russian speaker and is proficient in English and German.

Interests

Teaching Interests:
Professor Tikhonravov teaches undergraduate- and graduate-level courses in international law, human rights, and post-Soviet studies.
Research Interests:
Professor Tikhonravov’s current research examines the Soviet Union’s 1940 annexation of Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania, focusing on its legality, justifications, and international recognition. His findings have appeared in leading legal journals, including the Netherlands International Law Review and the American Journal of Legal History.
