Overview
Bentley Heyman is a Lecturer in Film in the School of Literature, Media, and Communication at Georgia Tech. His work as a screenwriter and director has been honored at festivals worldwide, including the Montana Film Festival, Brooklyn Film Festival, Raleigh Film and Art Festival, Breckenridge Film Festival, Richmond Film Festival, and NewFilmmakers NY. With professional experience spanning producing, directing, screenwriting, editing, and cinematography, Heyman brings a holistic filmmaking perspective to his teaching. He earned his MFA in Film from Stony Brook University and previously taught at American InterContinental University, where he received the Faculty Excellence Award in 2023 for his commitment to student success. At Georgia Tech, he teaches courses in Video Production, Advanced Video Production, Video Post-Production, Writing for the Stage and Screen, and Senior Thesis and Special Topics projects. He is deeply committed to hands-on, collaborative learning and mentoring students through professional-level production experiences that bridge academic study and creative practice.
