Dr. David Measel grew up in Little Rock, Arkansas, where he studied at University of Arkansas at Little Rock and performed music around the state, as well as in Georgia and North Carolina. David later graduated from Clemson University in South Carolina with a Ph. D. in Rhetorics, Communication, and Information Design A lifetime musician, Dr. David Measel now focuses his research and teaching in Sonic Rhetorics, Multimodal Rhetorics, and Kenneth Burke studies.
