A co-founder of the Crunk Feminist Collective, Morris also is a noted expert on other forms of African American and feminist literature. Her work also explores the concept of “intersectionality,” which is used to consider the ways in which the interconnectedness of sexism, racism and other systems of power combine to impact individuals and populations in complex ways.

She can comment on stories dealing with the rising influence of African-American science fiction and horror and Afrofuturism in movies, music and pop culture, the role and perception of African Americans and women in politics, and other queries related to contemporary black life.
