Biography

Whitlark’s research uses history and primary documents as a way to understand contemporary and future international security challenges. She currently is researching a book on U.S. and Israeli use of preventive military force as a counter-proliferation strategy against adversarial nuclear programs. Whitlark has published on Iran, North Korea, and other nuclear-related challenges facing U.S. foreign policy. Her work has been supported by organizations including the U.S. Defense Threat Reduction Agency.

She can comment on stories involving nuclear weapons, U.S. foreign policy and presidential decision-making in the context of counterproliferation efforts.
