Overview

Lee Hyunjeong Oh received a Master’s degree in Education (1999) from Cleveland State University and a bachelor’s degree in “Korean Language & Literature” (1996) from Yonsei University. After joining the Korean language program at Georgia Tech in 2010, she has taught all levels of Korean language classes and developed new courses, such as KOR 1001 (Elementary Korean 1), KOR 1002 (Elementary Korean 2), and KOR 3691 (Business Korean-LBAT course). Also, she participated in presentations about new teaching methods (“A handbook of synchronous online language teaching” and “Debate and media for advanced-level language course”) at the University System of Georgia (USG) Teaching and Learning Conference with her colleagues. Mrs. Oh has been a coordinator of the Korean program (Fall 2021‒) and the LBAT program (Spring 2020‒). Also, she has been an advisor with five student organizations: the Korean undergraduate student association, GT Seoulstice, GT Oscar Band, K-Buzz K-Pop club @ GT, and the GT Navy ROTC club. She received the 2016 Class of 1940 Course Survey Teaching Effectiveness Award. Furthermore, she received the Student Recognition of Excellence in Teaching: Class of 1934 CIOS Honor Roll Award (Fall 2020, Spring 2021, Fall 2021, Spring 2022) and the “Thank a Teacher” Program certificate.
