The School of Modern Languages recently awarded study abroad scholarships to 22 Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) students through the Project Global Officer (Project GO) initiative. Project GO is a Department of Defense initiative aimed at improving the language skills, regional expertise, and intercultural communication skills of future military officers.

Scholarships were awarded following an extremely competitive national application process, and recipients will receive full scholarships to participate in the school’s Language for Business and Technology (LBAT) summer study abroad programs to study Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Russian. This year’s group of scholarship recipients is made up of Air Force, Army, and Naval ROTC students from 13 different institutions, which includes nine students from Georgia Tech.
